Vision, Mission, Values

Parivaar’s dream is to connect all PwIDDs and their families throughout the country and also all over the world, as global development leader and international social force to be reckoned with.  Parivaar envisages for itself a major role of vision enabler and provider for PwIDDs and their families, being centre of excellence and knowledge hub.  Parivaar considers itself a robust platform to secure all PwIDDs, rights, quality of life in community and well  being of women, children and aged of the families of PwIDDs.  In order to accomplish these dreams, Parivaar makes a demand upon itself to be National CBO for implementation of programs, National Consulting Advisor, National Inclusion HRD & RD organization and National Documentation and Dissemination Centre. Thus, Parivaar has articulated the vision and mission as under:

Vision

To empower, secure rights and improve the quality of life of Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their families in the country.

Mission

Creating awareness in the community for inclusion of Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (PwIDDs) as contributing citizens at par with others, through advocacy, lobbying, creating inclusive environment and building a common platform by joining hands with all deprived sections of the society.

Core Values

Inclusion, non-discrimination, human rights, diversity, transparency, accountability, integrity and excellence. These core values are part of the basic tenets of UN Convention which needs to be followed meticulously in the day to day functioning of any human rights organization like Parivaar.

General Values:

Parivaar believes that all PwDs have strengths and inherent values and are equal before law and their dignity must be respected. Parivaar recognizes and respects concerns, capabilities, commitment and contribution of families. Parivaar values collaborative and participative functioning involving all concerned individuals, organizations and coalitions.

Parivaar values and recognizes protection of rights of children, women and vulnerable people. Parivaar Involves people, Applies knowledge and Make things happen.

Parivaar seeks to apply the following three values in whatever it does:

Involving People

The Parivaar, being an inclusive organisation, forges relationship with individuals as well as organizations from all over the world for their expertise and resources. Peoples' involvement is ensured through formal processes that also ensure accountability and transparency. When a large body of people is involved thus, transformation of PwIDDs and their families on the basis of rights, inclusion and empowerment framework will become a movement.

Applying Knowledge

Parivaar, seeks to remain a learning organisation at all times. It is about strategic excellence. A vast body of knowledge on almost every aspect of transformation of the lives of PwIDDs and their families is already available in the world. Information and communication technologies have developed dramatically to tap the existing and emerging knowledge almost on a real-time basis. Therefore, there is no need to "re-invent the wheel". What is required is adoption and creative adaptation of this knowledge to design and test the solutions. The tacit and explicit knowledge evolving from these experiences needs to be shared with the global audience. Harness global thought leadership in: Domains, Management, Information & Communication Technology Development processes.

Making Things Happen

This is about operational excellence, flawless execution. As the plans are executed, the progress is constantly monitored and deviations rectified proactively in real-time. The solutions are refined continually to reach the global best-in-class status. This requires a process-oriented and metrics-driven approach. Therefore, the Parivaar has embraced total quality management as its framework.
